I think I say this in every blog post– but I love maternity sessions. I think they are one of my favorites (family sessions being my all time favorite). This mama-to-be was no exception. We were losing light fast (funny how that works at sunset!) and she put up with all my crazy ideas, from picnics (watermelon was her #1 craving, I always love to work those cravings in) to standing IN the bushes and trees.

I was even more excited when I found out her mom was coming, so it’s sort of a three-generations portrait as well. They had such a great relationship and could just look at each other and start laughing. This is going to be one loved baby!

I met up with this stunning mama-to-be to document such an exciting time! Maternity sessions are one of my favorite session types. I think the pregnant form is gorgeous, and it’s important to get portraits during this time as it is so fleeting.

I can’t wait to meet the baby girl soon!

These gorgeous parents are long time friends of mine, so I jumped at the chance to photograph the last few moments as a family of two. I absolutely love how you can just FEEL the love they have for each other and for the little baby they are waiting to meet.

Despite the dreary weather, the mini sessions last weekend went really well. Despite the damp grass and grey skies, the rain held out for us.

I love pregnant bellies. Love! There’s just something so thrilling about the anticipation of a new birth!

This mama was beautiful. I’m seriously jealous over how good she looks at 38 weeks! (I believe the term “beached whale” was a fitting description of how I looked at 38 weeks with my daughter). The drizzle held out for us and we got to play and laugh and create some great images.

I thought this was the cutest moment! Her (very adorable) son came up to us while we were shooting, I guess he was a little confused as to why Mommy kept lifting up her shirt, so he joined in on the fun. I love Mom’s expression here as she laughs at how cute her son is behaving!
