This beautiful mom was a little camera shy and initially only wanted her children to be in her portraits. I’m happy to say I convinced her otherwise. You see, she is rarely in any photos with her kids as she is always the one taking the pictures, and I know that’s how it is with most moms. I know that as adults, we fuss about being in front of the camera… we worry about our hair, our weight, and generally feel awkward knowing the spotlight is on us. (ok, this is how I feel at least!) But 5 years from now… 10 years from now… 20 years from now… you will look back on these images of you AND the kids and be glad. You’ll be happy to have documented the joy on your faces as you play with your kids. You’ll be happy to have documented a beautiful reminder of the love you share. Your kids will appreciate seeing how the whole family looked “back then”… when your daughter is your age, she will enjoy seeing you and putting herself in your shoes, the similarities and differences in how you look, in where you are in life. Trust me!

I will take plenty of photographs of just your kids, but it’s important to make sure Mom and Dad are included, too.

It’s no surprise to me that the images of mom and the kids are my favorites….

I’ve been busy, busy, busy, but it’s time to take some time to catch up on this blog!

Last month I photographed several beautiful families in celebration of Mother’s Day in my Second Annual Mother’s Day Portrait Event. It was a limited edition marathon of minisessions, and I had an absolute BLAST! I met with some gorgeous mamas, and their equally beautiful and amazing children.

This baby girl has two of the most loving parents I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Remember this mama? Her gorgeous newborn girl arrived recently and I was thrilled to meet her. Watch out, Dad… she’s going to grow into a little heartbreaker.

This little girl was absolute perfection to photograph. She slept so well and posed so nicely for me! It was tough narrowing down what to choose to blog! If you want to see more, though, you can– don’t forget that my facebook fans (like-rs? ha!) see extended session sneak peeks.

This gorgeous bride-to-be contacted me for some sexy-hot portraits– a wedding gift to her soon-to-be husband. It was tough choosing what to blog– I loved them all, but we’ve got to keep this blog family friendly, and I don’t want to spoil her identity for the gift.

I love it when brides really accessorize for their boudoir sessions, and she had it down…. jewelry, outfits, shoes, makeup, hair, nails…. every detail was well thought about and it really shows in her portraits. I can’t wait to finish her album, it’s going to be fantastic!
